American Carpet Wholesalers of Georgia, Inc. (ACWG) hosted an open house and private viewing event for flooring industry executives and Dalton area business ambassadors yesterday evening. The event, held at ACWG’s new location at 2317 Chattanooga Road in Dalton, GA, was held to recognize the important relationship that ACWG has with the large flooring industry manufacturers, mills, and suppliers and to showcase the growth that ACWG has been fortunate to experience with other Dalton area business and financial leaders. Jerry Bryson, owner of ACWG said, “We were honored that our guests were able to take time from their schedules to see our new location. We appreciate the confidence these people have placed in us over the years.”

The locally owned and operated business, started 10 years ago in August, is the product of the years of experience the business principals have. Jerry Bryson, owner of ACWG, is a veteran of the flooring industry with over 35 years of product and consumer sales experience and his general manager, Ken Smith formerly with Owens Carpet which was a successful flooring wholesaler for many years. “Ken has brought much to the table with his product knowledge and supplier relationships. I am pleased that he is part of the ACWG Team,” said Bryson.Flooring industry executives at the event included members of Shaw Living Carpets and Rugs , Mohawk Carpet and Rugs, Armstrong Flooring, Congoleum Flooring, Earthwerks Flooring, Karndean Floors, Milliken Rugs, Mannington Floors, Beaulieu Carpets, and Quikstep Floors to name just a few.

The ACWG showroom is important to these companies because it not just sells their products it displays and uses their products. “Every step you take in the ACWG showroom is taking a step on a product we believe in and want you to experience first hand” says Ken Smith, general manager of ACWG. Further adding, “The person that is looking for flooring should have the opportunity to actually stand on the product and see what it feels like underfoot, not just in a box or on a sample board, we provide that and encourage everyone to come by here to experience that before buying.”ACWG does operate an online retail store as well at www.americancarpet.net and all of the products and brands are available there as well.

Ambassadors from the Dalton Chamber of Commerce were also on hand to officiate the ribbon cutting that officially opens the showroom. Formerly located at North Dug Gap Road ACWG purchased the former Blue Circle Carpet building and with the help of BB&T Bank has revitalized this large retail and warehouse space. Mr. Bryson stated that”Over the past 10 years we have moved to a larger facility 5 times. With our new location comes additional property for expansion when the need arises. None of this would be possible without the support of our suppliers and BB&T Bank especially. Each has my sincere gratitude.”
